Been
a busy, busy, year. Had my rotax apart about 12 times, and
destroyed a triumph motor. With some last minute wrenching and
late nights in the garage we luckily did not miss a race. When
parts did not arrive soon enough I borrowed a two hot rod
triumphs from Hugh Mackie of 6th street specials in nyc and rode
them against modern 450s , did quite well and had a ton of fun.
Made a lot of podiums this year and hope to get more as the
season continues. The day after the Brooklyn invitational there
will be a big vintage national flattrack at Oakland Valley
speedway, you should stop by. Its about and hour and 20 from the
city.
Thanks
for everything this year,
Nick

Hey Guys,
Sorry
its been so long. Ive been super busy this summer racing and fixing
blown up bikes. I went to ohio for two half miles, there I met FTW rider
Jud, super cool dude. Did ok, the first night I had bike problems, the
second day at ashland I won the 750 class. This past weekend I rode the
vintage national at my home track. First day I won all of my 4 out of 5
classes (bike broke down one race). Second day I took 3rd in open ex
from the second line, won two classes, and podium-ed the
rest. For the vintage series I only hit half the races and took seconds
and thirds in points. In district points I am winning everything but
have two more races this weekend. Ill let you know how the rest of the
season goes.

The seasons is just about over. In mid August was a vintage national at Black Rock Speedway in Dundee Ny, right next to Watkins Glen. What a track that was. Long corners, slick, and smooth as glass. There were a few times I could hold the throttle open all the way around. I was doing great until the stator on my Rotax went on the first day. So I just rode my honda in all the races and did great. Podium on every race. The Second to last race my break stay snapped when I went into the corner and locked up my breaks. I didnt finish that race but still had one more. With only one race in between I ran into the pits ripped off the caliper and made it on the track after a quick argument with my father. He was bitching about safety and all that. I managed to take 2nd place without breaks. Now Im thinking about building a rigid breakless because it was hella fun.
Then in late September was the last Vintage national at my home track which is 12 miles from my house. I had the fastest lap the whole day. I ended up winning 3 out of 4 races. Just got my letters from ama in the main the other day. I took 2nd in 750 masters, 4th in Hotrod singles, and 3rd in Hotrod singles. I may go to the banquet in Ohio but who knows. There has been talk of going to Daytona this year. Hopefully it happens so I can maybe win a class for once. Thats all from me.

Last weekend was a big Vintage National at Square deal riders in
Haurpersvill Ny. There was a big memorial race where they hand out
champagne and everything to the top three. Somehow I managed to get the
hole shot but got passed by two veterans of the track. I ended up taking
third out of about 15 bikes. That weekend I took 5 podium finishes out
of 6 races. I was told my name was kind of well known by the end of the
weekend for being the youngest dude there and getting on the podium a
bunch of times. I'm only going to two more of these national races
because the rest are in Ohio and Illinois. Not enough dough and time to
hit those races. Ill keep you posted.

"So first race was this Saturday. I won both vintage classes after a long battle with my chain.. The crappy snail adjusters wont stay in place. During the heat race I got the whole shot and my bike threw the chain which locked up the wheel coming out if 4, I though for sure someone was gonna nail me but I made it haha. Had a spare chain in the trailer and ended up winning the finals for heavy and medium vintage. In open am I got a bad start but slowly made my way up through the pack (passed about 4 people) and finished 4th. Got home from that race at 2:30 in the morning, got some sleep then had to get up to make the next race at 11. I ended up second in sportsman and first in vintage. Oh and I was the classiest dude at the track with my ftw jersey. That things really comfortable. Next weekends a half mile, last time I was on that I shredded a belt on my rotax dude to a bad pulley which took out the head. I dont want to be out another $700 so were gonna make sure everything's up to specks. Ill let you know how I make out."

Aye, So the last vintage race was the 18th. Won the 500 masters class points, took second or third in the Hot Rod singles points, and I think 4th in the 750 masters points. Then raced my first half mile last week. Did ok, just ok. Ended up 4th in the vintage class and shredded the belt on my Rotax in the first lap of the final. So I might have taken out the valves and piston knowing my luck (rotax parts aren't cheap, fuck!).
As far as school goes, I don't know, doing pretty good I guess. Taking a welding class and I can make pretty much anything I want as long as I have drawn up plans and its not paraphernalia or a weapon. So I'm gonna start making steel shoes and bike stands. Have a few FTW stickers on my helmet hahaha! Well anyways only about two more races left for the season. Then its ice racing and snowboarding time.
Peace out,

YO! Just raced a vintage national at my home track this past weekend. Did pretty good. Got on the podium for 3 outta 4 races. Then the next day I raced a non vintage race and won all 4 classes I was in. Gonna follow the series around to rack up some points. Don Miller from Metro racing keeps trying to get me to wear his shirts but I keep telling him I only wear FTW gear.
Introducing Newest FTWCO Racer Nick Weimer #495
Ever since I can remember, I've been around motorcycles. I remember being down in the basement when I was in diapers, checking out my sisters PW 50. When I was about 5 my dad finally threw me on it and let me ride around the yard. We started trail riding and messing around in the local sand pits.
At the age of 7, in 2002 I got in my first flat track race at the Middletown Thunder Dome. I think I finished 3rd in the 50 class, but I cant remember (too many concussion from racing, ha). From there I made my way up through the ranks, 80, 100, 250 to my current bike which is a Rotax 600 in a Woods frame, which I'm borrowing from the local UPS guy. I also race vintage with an XR 500 in a Star Racer frame against some FTW riders, Mike Kramer and Scott Rounds.
I took three second places in the points at Oakland Valley Speedway in Vintage, Sportsman, and Expert. For some winter projects, my dad and I are thinking about building a Harley K model, or a 500 Triumph in a Champion Frame. That's my story. Stoked to be part of the FTW team! NICK
