Garrett Brittenham, Team Brittenham

Hey Jeff! Been waiting on some pro pics from the Kansas series, but they still haven’t come, so I figured I’d better get some pics to you in the meantime. Been a busy summer for the Brittenhams! We’ve had a Brittenham bike in 6-7 classes at every race. Off to Waco for the ½ mile in a couple weeks, where I’ll be running Hooligan, 30+, and 80’s Singles. Locally, my son Sam is currently leading in points in the 50s class. Joe is sitting in 3rd in the 250 class, and I’m currently 2nd in Vintage.

Local short track, Joe got 2nd in 250, 5th in 250-450. I won 40+ and got 5th in Sportsman. Then we hit the VDTRA ½ mile in Ada, OK. Joe got 5th in 250, and 4th in 250-450. I won the Hooligan class, and the 40+ class, 3rd in 80s singles. It was brutally hot and humid, but a great time. The next day we watched the pros at the OKC Mile. Fantastic Father’s Day weekend! As always, thanks to my favorite Sponsor, FTWCO!

Joe and I decided to drag a couple flat track bikes out to a Supermoto. I rode Joe’s 250, and he rode his little sister’s 150R. I posted a pair of 2nd place motos in the Novice class, but finished ahead of all but one Intermediate rider. The breathed-on 250 had no trouble running with the 450s. Joe finished 3-3 in the youth class. It was a kick, and it looks like we’ll be doing more of this.

First race in the books, on a reconfigured and sketchy racetrack. Moved up to the Spoortsman class this season, finished the night in 5th. Won my vintage heat by a decent gap on the XR600R, but killed it on the line in the main, and had to watch from the infield.

Just picked this up! Getting back into vintage racing with this ’85 XR600R in a single-shock C&J frame. It’s vintage legal for Colorado Flat Track, but will have to be run in 80s singles for VDTRA events, so I’ll most likely get my butt kicked by Rotaxes. Still, it’s gonna be fun!

Looks like I’m the 2016 Colorado Flat Track Hooligan State Champion! Unbelievable. Came in 2nd overall in the 40+ class on the Honda. A good season.

Overall a good night at the track on the 27th.  Was a tad under the weather, but managed wins in 40+ and Hooligans. Here’s a few pics. Action shots by Bruno Melli, pit shots by Jen Hoff, bike shots by me.
